Endangered (proposed as a future Red Data Book species) on chalk downland in southern England and on the Burren. There are no confirmed records from Hampshire and not seen on the Isle of Wight since the early 20th Century. Wingspan 23-27 mm. Tends to be larger than either
Delplanqueia dilutella or its recently split congener
D. inscriptella, being less red; the ochreous streak dorsal to cell appears to be a good separation character as does the straighter, more oblique second line [Goater]. Larva feeds on Wild Thyme.
