First recorded from a wooded south-facing cliff on Guernsey, in 1990. Prior to this, it was known only from four females taken at Southampton Docks, Hampshire in the first half of June 1930 (MBGBI Vol 4 part 1). Please note that Obsidentify in particular provides this species as a suggestion for many Blastobasis species in error. Wingspan 17-19 mm. Away from Guernsey, voucher specimen should be retained for confirmation of identification. Larva feeds on rotten wood and fallen pine needles.
