Nationally scarce (Na) in bogs and damp woodland in widely separated localities throughout Britain and Ireland. In Hampshire reported from Matley Bog in 1981, but not reported again until one in Brockenhurst in June 2019. Not recorded from the Isle of Wight to date. Wingspan 6.5-9 mm. The strong serrations on the antenna, from which it is named, are characteristic. Larva mines leaves of Heath Sedge and Wood Sedge.
