Extinct in the British Isles. The only British specimen was taken by Lord Walsingham at Merton, Norfolk in the latter half of the 19th Century. Recognised as a separate species only in 2001, having previously been lumped with
E. regificella. Unlikely to be recorded in Hampshire or on the Isle of Wight. Wingspan 7.8-9.6 mm. Larva mines leaves of Field Wood-rush.
