Rare (proposed as a future Red Data Book species) on dry grassland and downland in England, south of a line from the Severn to Humber estuaries. In Hampshire known from a handful of sites, including Porton Down, Oxenbourne, Broughton Down and Leckford. Not recorded from the Isle of Wight to date. Wingspan 11-13 mm. A fairly distinctive coleophorid, the main features being a clear white costal streak and white unringed antenna. Larva mines leaves of Wild Thyme, living within a movable case; case length 7-8 mm.
