Nationally scarce (Nb) in fens, marshes and on river-banks in England south and east of a line from Devon to Herefordshire and The Wash; also in Derbyshire, Monmouthshire and on the Burren. In Hampshire recorded just once, at Lower Breach Copse, West Park, in July 2002. Recorded on the Isle of Wight for the first time at Cranmore SSSI on 31 May 2011. Wingspan 14-16 mm. One of several similar, rather nondescript gelechiids, which can only be reliably identified by dissection of the genitalia. Larva feeds within roots of Meadowsweet.
