Local in dry grassland in Wales and southern England, and in scattered localities as far north as Kincardineshire (MBGBI Vol 4 part 2). In Hampshire and Isle of Wight found occasionally, and mainly a species of the chalk. Wingspan 10-11 mm. Larva feeds on seeds of Wild Marjoram, living within a movable case, over-wintering as a pupa.
