Local in marshes, river-banks and other damp areas throughout much of the British Isles, but not in northern Scotland. In Hampshire the few recent records are widely spread across the county. Not recorded from the Isle of Wight since 1948. Wingspan 18-28 mm. Larva mines leaves and stems of Branched Bur-reed and Reed Sweet-grass.
