Recorded in 1974 in a cargo of feathers from Formosa, since when a series of 11 specimens has been found in the BMNH labelled 'I. of Wight, Sept. 1930, ex L. on fur.' Wingspan 18-20 mm. This species is smaller than
Tapestry Moth T. tapetzella and the outer margin of the dark part of the forewing is transverse, not oblique (MBGBI Vol 2). Larva feeds on fur and feathers.
