Extinct in the British Isles, formerly known only from Kent, where last recorded at Cuxton in 1899, and from Surrey. Unlikely to be recorded in Hampshire or on the Isle of Wight. Wingspan 10-14 mm. Larva is apparently associated with bumble bee nests, and feeds on detritus.
