Formerly considered extinct in the British Isles, known only from Kent, where last recorded at Cuxton in 1899, and from Surrey, it was re-discovered in 2021 (Ent Rec 134: 287-314, MIcroplepidoptera Review of 2021). Wingspan 10-14 mm. Larva is apparently associated with bumble bee nests, and feeds on detritus.
