Extinct in the British Isles, formerly in parts of south-eastern England. Unlikely to be recorded in Hampshire or on the Isle of Wight. Wingspan male 13-17 mm, female wingless. The adult moths were seen occasionally, but most records were of larval cases. Larva feeds on various grasses, living within a movable case.
