Vulnerable (proposed as a future Red Data Book species) on flower meadows and downland on chalk or limestone in south-eastern England, Cumbria and the Burren. Not recorded in Hampshire or on the Isle of Wight to date. Wingspan 4.2-5.8 mm. Very similar to
T. cryptella, from which only really separable by dissection of the genitalia. Larva mines leaves of Bird's-foot Trefoil.
